Our Cases

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program assists low-income clients with benefits, consumer, employment, family, housing, landlord-tenant, probate, real property, tax, and wills matters.  DVAP does not help with criminal cases, tickets, or fee-generating cases, such as medical malpractice and personal injury matters.

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program provides advice, brief legal services, and full representation.  The program also sponsors a number of special clinics throughout the year, including the following:

Pro Se Clinic - Clients, with the assistance of volunteers, represent themselves in basic family law cases.  Pro Se Clinic participants must first apply through a DVAP clinic or through Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas.

Wills Clinic - Periodic wills clinics are held throughout the year to assist low-income clients with estate planning documents.  For more information on the Wills Clinics, please contact Miriam Caporal at (214) 748-1234, ext. 2247.

For more information on volunteering with DVAP, contact Chris Reed-Brown at 214-748-1234, extension 2243.
