Law Firm Clinics
Started in 1998, the Law Firm Clinic allows attorneys to represent clients in court without having to leave their offices. The law firm will accept a group of clients with uncontested cases and assign them to the firm's volunteer attorneys. The volunteer attorneys interview and advise the clients, draft all paperwork, and have a support person file all paperwork at the court. When the cases are ready to be finalized, DVAP will bring a judge, court reporter, the clients and the case files to the law firm, where the cases will be finalized. DVAP provides in-house CLE trainings and mentor attorneys to assist the volunteers.
